Truth Detectives addresses the challenge of online misinformation and disinformation by creating an educational experience as a board game. Game-based learning is an established way to exchange information, practice, and learn. The idea’s innovative approach is using AR (Augmented Reality) to make a physical board game “smarter” by connecting physical and digital spaces. We use AR to make the game more captivating by visualising key game events, providing clues, and guiding players through the process. Part of the content and gameplay will be developed using AI tools. The project’s goal is to achieve engagement and empathy through gamification and storytelling rather than by only presenting dry facts and numbers. About Momchil Alexiev is a visual artist with 15 years of experience in interactive immersive storytelling.
